Transfer to Comprehensive Schools |

Rickley Junior School |

In the September following their eleventh birthday children transfer to secondary school, usually, but not always, The Lord Grey School. Parents are notified, by letter from the Education Manager, during the first term of the child’s final year in the junior school regarding arrangements for transfer. The children transferring to comprehensive schools normally spend a day at their new school in July. Meetings for parents are also arranged by the schools during July, providing the opportunity for parents to visit and to meet some of the staff. Good staff liaison has been established with first and comprehensive schools. There is an exchange of curriculum information and every effort is made to ensure a smooth transition from school to school. There are frequent visits by staff to and from the schools. Monthly liaison meetings are held for Heads of infant, junior and related comprehensive schools and include Advisers from Milton Keynes. |
